Floodland (album)
Hamburg
... that the amount of water in Hamburg (pictured) inspired the title and main lyrical theme for the Sisters of Mercy's 1987 album Floodland? Source: Sounds magazine, December 1987 — "Although 'Floodland' is soaked in water imagery, Eldritch insists that the theme wasn't international. 'I just wrote the songs and it's only afterwards that you think, My God, there's water all the way through this. It's obviously got a lot to do with living here, because Hamburg's full of water.'" - @Aria1561: Thoughts on Alt3? This review needs someone to weigh in on the hooks. --evrik (talk) 16:20, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Evrik: Why exactly did you strike out the first two hooks? An explanation would be nice before moving forward. Aria1561 (talk) 16:27, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- In my review, I thought that the first two hooks were less than optimal. Given that this has a request to go on the day of the albums release, Alt2 seemed like the best - although I think Alt2 needs some rewording or refining. --evrik (talk) 16:30, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
