Felix Agnus
edit... that Black Aggie, a statue formerly located at the grave of Felix Agnus, has been the subject of many urban legends?Source: Mills, Cynthia J. (Summer 2000). "Casting Shadows: The Adams Memorial and Its Doubles". American Art. Smithsonian American Art Museum. 14 (2): 2–25.
Improved to Good Article status by Eddie891 (talk). Nominated by Philroc (talk) at 13:27, 16 June 2018 (UTC).
- Fivefold expansion, long enough, well-cited.
- The hook is short enough, cited, hooky.
- Good to go!Zigzig20s (talk) 03:05, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I don't understand why you're not spotlighting the subject of your article, which will get no clicks with Black Aggie as the subject of the hook. This is a GA. Isn't there something to say about his life or accomplishments? Yoninah (talk) 21:49, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Any updates @Eddie891 and Philroc:? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:53, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

... that at the Battle of Big Bethel, Felix Agnus saved the life of Captain Judson Kilpatrick?Source: "Felix Agnus". The New York Times. Retrieved 2018-06-06.
- @Yoninah: Thoughts? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:23, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for the new hooks, Eddie891. I think ALT2 has hook potential, though the article doesn't give any background about this march other than its name. ALT1 is rather run of the mill, and ALT3 would be interesting if I knew who Kilpatrick was. Yoninah (talk) 22:46, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
- Maybe ALT3 could be improved this way:
- ALT3a: ... that as a volunteer infantryman in the American Civil War, Felix Agnus saved the life of Captain Judson Kilpatrick? Yoninah (talk) 22:48, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
- BTW the Hugh Judson Kilpatrick page makes no mention of this event. Could you add it there? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 22:55, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yoninah, Narutolovehinata5 I like 3A. I will add mention on Hugh Judson Kilpatrick in the next few minutes.Eddie891 Talk Work 20:20, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- It appears that Eddie891 did add that fact to the Hugh Judson Kilpatrick page as promised. We need a reviewer to sign off on ALT3 since both Narutolovehinata5 and I worked on it. Pinging @Zigzig20s:. Yoninah (talk) 22:45, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Thoughts? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:23, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
- Honestly I'm not so sure about this hook as I don't think Kilpatrick is a well-known figure (I've personally never heard of him), and I'm not even sure if he's well-known even in America. The hook would have made more sense if Kilpatrick was a famous figure. (note to Yoninah: I think I'm allowed to review the hook as I did not actually propose it nor made changes to it, I merely pinged the nominators for updates, though feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:20, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: you're right; I thought you were the one who wrote the hooks, but looking at the history, I see that Eddie891 proposed them. It confused me that the signature stamp was before the listing of hooks. Sure, since I tweaked ALT3, you can certainly review it.
- I wasn't expecting that anyone knows who these people are. But I thought it was very interesting that a volunteer infantryman saved the life of his captain. Yoninah (talk) 23:27, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Would this make more sense then? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:39, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- ALT3b:
... that as a volunteer infantryman in the American Civil War, Felix Agnus saved the life of his captain, Judson Kilpatrick?
- @Narutolovehinata5: Your hook is nice, but it's not clear from the source that it was his captain. Yoninah (talk) 23:42, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: can we just go with ALT3a? Yoninah (talk) 19:30, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
- I guess we can if there are no more objections. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:34, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
