Speculative model of the first Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus in Rome
... that the orientation of new Etruscan temples (model illustrated) was often decided by augurs observing the flight of birds?

Substantial article on good sources, offline sources accepted AGF. I like birds, but I'd modify to the wording of the article (can't see support for "often" as the source is offline):- ALT1: ... that the orientation of new Etruscan temples (model pictured) may have been decided by augurs observing the flight of birds? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:25, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
