Ethiopic Apocalypse of Ezra

  • ... that the reign of Ye will be one of perjury, slavery, pestilence and death, according to the Ethiopic Apocalypse of Ezra? Source: Fried, op. cit., p. 116: "After him, one of his relatives, named Ye, will seize the kingdom. . . Under this king no one will walk according to justice or right, and everyone will swear false oaths. Slaves will be sold to the children of Ishmael. There will be famine and pestilence, and mankind will perish."
    • ALT1: ... that the Jewish Ethiopian Apocalypse of Ezra predicts that the Messiah will come to destroy Islam? Source: Fried, op. cit., p. 116: "Then the son of a lion ... will take vengeance on the children of Ishmael. Out of his mouth will come fire, and with the rapidity of a hurricane he will kill them and disperse them to all sides". For the identification of the son of a lion as the Messiah, see p. 114. For identification of the Ishmaelites, see p. 112.
