Some paraphrasing concerns, see here and here. Obviously, not everything needs to be changed ("Leeds Modern School and Leeds University" is fine) but some of it should be tweaked to be a little less verbatim ("later in 1930 he was elected to Leeds City Council"" could be changed). - Thank you for your helpful comments – this is indeed my first DYK nomination, so I'm trying to learn as I go along. I have edited the article in a few places to reduce close paraphrasing, and I believe the remaining matches on the duplication detector are now just names and standard phrases such as
dissolution honours list

- Actually, can you possibly clarify something? The cited article says "Up to 1948 robbery with violence and armed robbery were the only important offences for which flogging and birching could be imposed. Wing Commander Eric Bullus (Con. Wembley North) decided yesterday to widen his Private Member's Bill to cover, besides these offences, felonious wounding, malicious wounding, rape and indecent assault on females." The Wiki article, meanwhile, claims "He introduced the Criminal Justice (Amendment) Bill, which aimed to reinstate flogging as a punishment for violent and armed robbery (a punishment that had been abolished in 1948), as well as for wounding and rape, in 1952, and it was debated in early 1953." From the cited article, I don't get the sense that flogging was ever banned as a punishment, just that Bullus hoped to expand its use. BobAmnertiopsis∴ChatMe! 16:11, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
