  • The current article text does not directly support "had to relocate", and neither does the star article. The following DFA source does imply it, and so would support something similar to "...relocated after its location was destroyed by...", but that is not reflected in the article either. "with Octavio L. Maloles presenting his credentials to President Adolfo López Mateos on September 12, 1961 as the first resident Philippine ambassador to Mexico" is too close a paraphrase to the source. • Apologies; I've been busy with work and haven't been on-wiki lately! With respect to the relocation, I'm a bit confused: most sources indicate that it was damaged; the only source so far that implies relocation (which of course is a given otherwise) is the DFA piece, so wouldn't it make more sense to have both statements ("damaged in earthquake" and "relocated to the ambassadorial residence") cited separately? Perhaps this is me being pedantic but I take a view that both statements are being cited separately, rather than just the DFA piece citing the entire sentence, although let me find another source that may back both up. On the other hand, I've rewritten the credentials sentence so it paraphrases the source less. --Sky Harbor (talk) 14:55, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
My concern was that none of the sources explicitly link the new chancery with the earthquake. Unless by relocate you mean operate out of the ambassadors house etc.? A relocation of the embassy as an institution rather than a building? If so perhaps it could be reworded. CMD (talk) 13:10, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Okay, I clarified it to mean the chancery. (Usually, when people say "embassy" or "diplomatic mission", they mean the chancery.) --Sky Harbor (talk) 15:39, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
In that case my original concern remains and there needs to be a source explicitly linking the two events. CMD (talk) 15:46, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
  • I personally think that the sources cover the original hook adequately, but if we have to reword then I'd be fine with ALT0a. --Sky Harbor (talk) 22:08, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
ALT0a. CMD (talk) 02:21, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
