Thank you for the comments. I have fixed all of the text as suggested, and placed the appropriate sources at the ends of the paragraphs.Chaiten1 (talk) 07:14, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

@Chaiten1: Everything's taken care of except:
  1. Given that the first sentence I caught is more or less the same with "throughout" replaced by "around", I strongly recommend looking at WP:CLOP (though take a look at WP:LIMITED).
  2. I feel studied drama at Yale School of Drama seems redundant.
  3. I think WP:LIMITED might apply, but I'm not sure the attendance years add anything to the article. I recommend merging in the "New York Theological Seminary" sentence and changing it to White was a student at the City College of New York, New York University, the Yale School of Drama, and the New York Theological Seminary..
  4. The birth year isn't supported by the source, and neither is that lived in Harlem, let alone when he moved there, just that he was raised in the South Bronx. Though, [2] does say grew up in Harlem, New York from 1952.
  5. It turns out some copyediting may be required, maybe submit a request at WP:GOCE. One example: change the poet and writer Langston Hughes. Hughes later helped White to him to to poet Langston Hughes, who later inspired White to, not to mention the attached source just says that Hughes encouraged [White]'s writing. ミラP@Miraclepine 17:00, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
  6. Ref 3 is still a bare URL and the hook still isn't properly cited on the nom as I suggested. I highly recommend using WP:PRIT in the near future.
Take care of these, and I will accept. ミラP@Miraclepine 17:00, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
@Chaiten1: Fixed ping per WP:PINGFIX. ミラP@Miraclepine 21:31, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your editorial suggestions and pointers to editing resources. I have worked some more on the article, included some additional sources (from two published books), rephrased and edited the text, and fixed the bare references. I think that documenting the dates of some key life events helps to set the framework for the biography. Thank you for assistance. Chaiten1 (talk) 08:21, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

@Chaiten1: AGF the offline sources, no bare URL refs. But issue 5 (namely the example and the GOCE request) still hasn't been addressed, and since you replaced "around" with "across", change performed across the world to performed internationally for originality. ミラP@Miraclepine 19:19, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for your patience; I think that I have now understood the instructions, and fixed the copyeditsChaiten1 (talk) 19:55, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
@Chaiten1: Almost failed to notice, ref 9 is bare. ミラP@Miraclepine 20:37, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Fixed, thanks Chaiten1 (talk) 20:40, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
@Chaiten1: (edit conflict) Also, still no GOCE request. The request page and guidelines are at WP:GOCER. ミラP@Miraclepine 20:41, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
I have looked at GOCE, read the guidelines and joined the GOCE challenge so that I can continue to develop my copyediting skills. I am not sure that requesting GOCE is necessary? Chaiten1 (talk) 20:45, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
@Chaten1: On second thought, I'll look at the article myself and reveal what needs to be fixed before I can approve. ミラP@Miraclepine 20:56, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
@Chaiten1: Ping fixed. ミラP@Miraclepine 20:57, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
@Chaiten1: Upon closer inspection of the DYK rules, I think doing copyediting myself is okay, so I've done just that. And now that all the issues are taken care of, ALT0 approved. ミラP@Miraclepine 21:18, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Thank you again! Chaiten1 (talk) 21:28, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
