Don Kindt edit

  • ... that Don Kindt was drafted 11th overall in the 1947 NFL Draft and signed for a $25,000 bonus, despite having off-season knee surgery?
  • Comment: 5x expanded per the DYK check tool, article is now an GA WikiCup nomination

  • Passes 5x expansion, source is reliable, hook and article have some differences. The hook says 12th, the article says 11th. The hook says he was injured, the article does not. The hook says 25,000 bonus, article mentions 25,000 for three years.--WillC 08:08, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

The article does mention the knee injury prior to the draft though in the end of the college career section. With the bonus I had conflicting sources whether it was a $25,000 bonus (which the source I used originally said), but I saw several other sources saying a contract, so it's really a question mark. Either way it was a huge sum for an American football player in that era, and investigating the sources further, I updated it to a $25,000 contract when I was doing the finishing touches here, and forgot to fix the hook. The 12th overall was a typo on my part. Thanks Secret account 02:48, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Alright, with that explanation, I say it is good to go.--WillC 05:16, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
