I don't understand how, if the English would not arrest him because, unlike Italy, association with the Mafia is not a crime in England, then what was the basis for his eventual arrest by English officers? Was the warrant an EU warrant which trumps English law? The article needs to make this clear. — btphelps (talk to me) (what I've done) 18:48, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

I have pulled this hook from the main page[1] where it was live for some 10 minutes, because of serious BLP problems, as discussed at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard#Weakly sourced claim that Pete Townshend did a serious criminal offence currently on Main Page (the second part of that section concerns this article). Fram (talk) 5:24 am, Today (UTC−7)

  • I don't see any attempts in the past week to address any of the concerns raised by Fram. Matty.007, do you plan to try to fix the BLP problems soon, or should we close the nomination as unsuccessful? BlueMoonset (talk) 02:41, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
    • My theory was that having run on the MP already, it wouldn't be able to run. Was that correct? Thanks, Matty.007 05:49, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
  • If it was only there for ten minutes, it is still eligible; we've had articles that ran an hour or two before being pulled, and then were given another shot after their issues were corrected. However, a significant amount of work will be needed on the article to fix the BLP issues, and an entirely new hook would be needed. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:19, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
  • OK, would you mind pointing me towards what needs doing to the article so that I can get to work on it, BlueMoonset? An Alt hook is fine by me. Thanks, Matty.007 18:42, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
  • BlueMoonset, please can you tell me what I need to do? Thanks, Matty.007 19:37, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
  • Matty.007, addressing the issues raised in Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard/Archive184#Domenico_Rancadore would be the first step. Have you done any of these? You'll definitely need to create a new hook, as the original one was problematic. Also, there are factual problems in the article: the first two quotes in the Mafia section aren't from the BBC; while the BBC prints them, the first statement is said to be from the Italian police, and the second is the BBC quoting from the arrest warrant. The final sentence in that section has grammatical issues, and there's no reason to reference the same source at the end of this sentence and twice in the previous sentence, when the final citation of the three is sufficient since no quotes need citing. The final sentence of the Arrest section should go first (to explain how he could be arrested after the end of the previous section seemed to indicate that he couldn't be). And the Concerns section has two sentences that basically say the same thing; the first sentence is sufficient. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:09, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
  • OK, thanks for the pointers. I will start looking at the article in the next few days. Matty.007 17:03, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
  • Matty.007, it's been ten days with no action. Unless you can make some real progress in the next couple of days, I think this should close. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:51, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
  • Sorry, I have been off Wiki for real life reasons recently. I would like to withdraw this nomination please, as I haven't got much time for WP for a week or so. Thanks, Matty.007 16:17, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
  • Thanks for letting us know. Closing nomination as withdrawn. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:26, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
