Crime in Cuba edit

A Cuban police car in Havana, Cuba, getting washed by Cuban policemen, photographed in May 2002

  • Inadequate coverage of the topic. Gatoclass (talk) 17:45, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Working on improving the article. In the meantime, here is ALT1: ... that in the 1920s, Fernando Ortiz believed in a "scientific crusade against crime in Cuba"? --Rosiestep (talk) 03:12, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
  • More text added.--Nvvchar. 13:20, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Obviously it's better than it was, but I'm still not totally comfortable with this. For example, there are few if any statistics; in particular, I would like to see comparative statistics with other South and North American countries. The organization is still a bit of a mess - if you haven't done so already, I would suggest taking a look at some of the more mature "Crime in country" articles, like for example Crime in the United States or Crime in Canada. I actually took clue from Crime in India. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 03:28, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Since the nom, the article has been expanded by 3 other editors (Dr. Blofeld, Nvvchar, and me). I've done a bit of c/e just now. Unfortunately, we won't get crime statistics in Cuba if the ref for the lede sentence is to be considered reliable. I'm offering ALT2: ... that prostitution is not a crime in Cuba? --Rosiestep (talk) 19:06, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Considering that the photo for ALT2 has a 'Personality rights warning', and is massively BLP-problematic, I'd say no to using it at the main page. --Soman (talk) 01:06, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
  • I tweaked ALT2, removing "pictured" and I've removed the photo from this nom page. Also, the photo is no longer in the article. --Rosiestep (talk) 04:10, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Article needs full review post expansion; issues with ALT2 have been addressed by eliminating the problematic photo. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:41, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
I still have some POV concerns with this one, and again, I will need to find time to check the article content against its sources to ensure it is presenting a reasonably accurate portrayal of crime in the country. Gatoclass (talk) 11:36, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
