Creep (TLC song)

edit
  • ... that TLC's member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes threatened to wear black tape over her mouth on "Creep"'s music video because she opposed the song's lyrical content?
    • ALT1:... that TLC's "Creep", a song that was originally based on a group's member unfaithful boyfriend, was also based on the track's only writer Dallas Austin's adultery to another member?
    • ALT2:... TLC shot a total of three different music videos for "Creep", but two of them were scrapped?

5x expanded by Beyoncetan (talk). Self-nominated at 17:06, 26 January 2017 (UTC).

  • I'm having a little bit of problem in writing the ALT1, please help me re-write it! Thank you! Beyoncetan (talk) 17:06, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
  • I have to admit, I assumed when I saw the page title nominated here that this would be a GA nom, and was skeptical that it could really be a 5x expansion given how big of a hit this song was, and how it still resonates. At 36,514 characters of prose, it is more than a seven-fold expansion from the previous version, which was a modest 5,097 characters, and it was all done yesterday (in main space at least, I assume you drafted that elsewhere because you'd have to for an expansion that big). The article has citations all throughout and appears to be written in a neutral, encyclopedic tone. Earwig's Copyvio Detector doesn't like it, but it's because you used direct quotes, with quotations and citations, which is okay. The editor has one prior DYK credit, so while it's recommended you engage in QPQ reviews, it's not required yet. The main hook and ALT1 are verified by sources presented after the sentence they are presented in within the article. I did CTRL-F searches for "infidelity" and "black tape". ALT2 is less interesting to me. I rewrote ALT1 below as ALT3. I suggest either the main hook or ALT1/3 in some fashion. One question though: why hasn't this been nominated for GA yet? Great job! – Muboshgu (talk) 21:08, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
@Muboshgu: Woooow, thank you so much! Actually I was going to nominate it for GA, but now i'm just checking things a bit to make sure it more perfect. Thank you so much for adding ALT3 and for your kind words too! Beyoncetan (talk) 12:55, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT3:... that TLC's "Creep" was originally based on a group's member unfaithful boyfriend and the songwriter's adultery against another member?
