• ... that the title of the song "Conquistador" by Thirty Seconds to Mars refers to soldiers and explorers of the Portuguese Empire or the Spanish Empire conquering territory during the Age of Discovery?

• Is it established that the song "Conquistador" refers to said explorers? The reference for the hook is a 1997 book, which predates the song by 16 years, has nothing to do with music, and might as well be replaced with a dictionary definition (e.g. wiktionary:conquistador). Furthermore, song titles and lyrics are often nebulous and/or metaphorical. Although it is conceivable that the lyrics refer to said 16th century conquerors ("We are the children of the great empire"...) to avoid original synthesis or novel interpretation of primary sources, the hook should be verified by a source that clearly states "this is what the song title refers to". --Animalparty-- (talk) 20:20, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

ALT2 ... that the song "Conquistador" by Thirty Seconds to Mars appeared on the UK Rock Chart despite not being released as a single?

ALT3 ... that Thirty Seconds to Mars released the song "Conquistador" two weeks before the album's release as a way of saying thanks to their fans?
