Created by Fade258 (talk). Nominated by Empire AS (talk) at 08:22, 16 December 2020 (UTC).
- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. However, several references are bare URLs, per Rule D3. I gave the article a copyedit and added tags where I did not understand what it was talking about: balls, runs, wickets? I also added a question in a hidden note. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits.
- I will address the hook when all the articles are ready for a multi-article hook suggestion. Yoninah (talk) 14:13, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- Currently at AFD; on hold until discussion there concludes one way or the other. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:41, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- AFD was closed and article remains; nomination continues at Template:Did you know nominations/Jaffna Stallions in 2020 as part of a five-article combined hook. This page will remain open in case until that page has been closed or the articles unbundled. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:41, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
Reviewing... Edge3 (talk) 04:06, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Several "citation needed" and "clarification needed" tags on the article. These need to be resolved first. Edge3 (talk) 17:59, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Fade258, Empire AS, DT Truth, Tahaaleem, and CreativeNorth: Pinging you all, since you're involved in this joint nomination in some form. Let me know if you have any questions. Edge3 (talk) 22:51, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- Please note that Empire AS has been blocked for sockpuppeting, and it seems unlikely they'll be back. There are also two sources that are only bare URLs, which is not allowed for DYK nominations. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:20, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: I have fixed that bared url that you mentioned as a issues and the existing hooks were alright. It seems that the bare url are properly rectified. Please have a look!(Fade258 (talk) 11:03, 14 February 2021 (UTC))
- Fade258, I'm sorry I wasn't clear: the bare URLs are in the Colombo Kings in 2020 article itself (references 6 and 21), and need to be fixed there (along with the "citation needed" and "clarification needed" tags). It's a significant amount of work. Bare URLs are fine on DYK nomination pages like this one, since they're unlikely to go stale during the nomination process. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:41, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: Ok. I will correct it as soon as possible with an addition of some ALT.Best regards!(Fade258 (talk) 16:25, 15 February 2021 (UTC))
- No progress on this article for a week, so I'll mark this nomination for closure. I'll post a note at Template:Did you know nominations/Jaffna Stallions in 2020 that the multi-hook nomination will proceed without this one. Edge3 (talk) 17:48, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- The article creator, Fade258, has requested additional time to address the issues with this article. (See thread on user talk.) I'll leave this nomination open, but I would still recommend that the multi-hook nomination at Template:Did you know nominations/Jaffna Stallions in 2020 be allowed to proceed.
- Pinging BlueMoonset for awareness. Edge3 (talk) 05:39, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Thanks to Fade258 for making the requested edits. I've copyedited the article even further, and I think this article is good to go. Article was new enough at time of nomination. Long enough, well cited, neutrally written. Earwig flagged this article, and based on the publication date, the text appears to have been copied directly from Wikipedia. This article's portion of the multi-article hook is verified. QPQ not required for new nominators. Edge3 (talk) 04:34, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
@Edge3:,Is this nomination is applicable to approve for DYK nomination?(Fade258 (talk) 04:56, 23 February 2021 (UTC))
- @Fade258: I'm not quite sure what you're asking. To clarify, I have approved Colombo Kings in 2020 to appear on the "Did You Know" section of the Main Page, along with four other articles that were co-nominated in Template:Did you know nominations/Jaffna Stallions in 2020. Specifically, the other articles are Jaffna Stallions in 2020, Galle Gladiators in 2020, Dambulla Viiking in 2020, and Kandy Tuskers in 2020. Edge3 (talk) 05:28, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
