  • Article length is around 2,300 characters, well above the minimum of 1,500. The hook confirms the statement in the DYK nomination. Good to go. Arius1998 (talk) 02:28, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
  • There are serious copyright violations in this article: direct, unquoted sentences simply lifted from the original sources, although typographical errors have sometimes been introduced. For example: "Griffin scored the biggest win of his walking career when he won the2 European Grand Prix 0 Km in Podebrady, Czech Republic" in the article vs. "Griffin scored the biggest win of his walking career when he won the European Grand Prix 20 Km in Podebrady, Czech Republic" from this source, and "However, Colin Griffin fell foul of the judges, and was duly disqualified" in both article and this source. There's also a great deal of duplication from The Running Review's Q&A, which is cited in several places here.
The copied material must be either removed entirely or carefully paraphrased so it is far from the original, and all sources should be checked: I've only checked about half myself so far. More minor are that the article does need a copyedit: quotes are doubled, spaces are missing after commas, odd words are capitalized, etc. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:39, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Further investigation found so very much infringing material that I couldn't leave it in place: I have deleted all that I could find. Unfortunately, this leaves a 677 prose character article, nowhere near enough to qualify. For it to be restored, each sentence will need extensive revision. I still have two more sources to check, too. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:41, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
