- ALT1 ... that the revelation that Belle Knox acted in pornographic films to pay her tuition at Duke University was extremely controversial?
- ALT2 ... that Belle Knox acted in pornographic films to pay the $60,000 per year it cost her to attend Duke University?
- I just don't like the "created controversy" construction. My ALT1 suggestion avoids that without changing the substance. As long as it's kept at AfD I say it's good to go. Long enough, new enough, every fact in the proposed hook and both of my ALTS is cited inline, as is everything else in the article. There's no close paraphrasing or copyright violation per duplicate detector and my own checking. The hooks, all of them, are short enough and hooky enough. They're neutral in the context of the situation, given that Knox has discussed everything openly.
