  • ... that Becca Pizzi won 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days despite her first injury in 30 years of running? (Sources: Runner's World for no injury in 30 years, Boston Globe et al. for groin injury during race.)
    • ALT1:... that Becca Pizzi won 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days, and accepted a marriage proposal before throwing the first pitch at Fenway Park? (Last sentence, Globe and WFXT; can't beat that for a happy ending!)

Created/expanded by GRuban (talk). Self-nominated at 15:27, 20 November 2016 (UTC).

  • ALT2:... that marathon runner Becca Pizzi was proposed to on the pitcher's mound at Fenway Park before she threw out the first pitch? (Last sentence, Globe and WFXT) -- I'm suggesting this as a tighter variant to ALT1, which I think is preferable to stating two relatively independent facts together. My personal preference, though, would be for ALT since it is more focused on her achievements. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 14:40, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
  • Initial review: Article from moved to mainspace on Nov 18 and nominated on Nov 20, so new enough; clearly long enough, neutral (tone is a little informal, but not biased); cited; no copyvios (some longer phrasings like the 7-7-7 thing can't really be rephrased); hooks are short enough and interesting; QPQ provided. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 16:37, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
  • @GRuban: Changes are needed to support the proposed hooks. Regarding ALT: "In Dubai she suffered her first running injury ever, falling with a groin muscle tear during the second mile." This sentence supports the hook for ALT and needs to be immediately followed by a citation. Regarding ALT1, "a surprise marriage proposal while throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park"; "surprise" is not mentioned in the Wikipedia article, and the only mention of surprise in the cited sources is in one of the article titles. "while" implies the proposal occurred during the act of throwing. So some modification to the hook/article is needed. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 16:37, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
Hook modified, citation added, thank you. --GRuban (talk) 20:32, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
  • Congratulations! Looks good to me now, but someone else should confirm the nomination since I proposed one of the hooks. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 00:05, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
  • I confirmed and promoted ALT1 to prep, based on the reviewer's initial approval of the hook and full review. Yoninah (talk) 12:52, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
