Australian contribution to UNTAG
edit- ... that the Australian contribution to UNTAG in Namibia of over 600 engineers in 1989-90 was the first major deployment of Australian troops since the Vietnam War and was pivotal to changing Australia's approach to peace-keeping?

- That wording seems a bit over-complex to me. How about: ... that the Australian contribution to UNTAG in Namibia between 1989 and 1990 was the first major deployment of Australian troops since the Vietnam War? (the article also currently doesn't include a direct reference for this statement) Nick-D (talk) 11:58, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, what about this, directly referenced to Hansard.
- ... that the Australian contribution to UNTAG in Namibia between 1989 and 1990 was (at the time) the the largest peace-keeping commitment in which this country (Australia) has ever participated?
- What about this... famously as early as 1978, the Prime Minister of Australia, Malcolm Fraser wanted to send an Australian peace-keeping force to Namibia?

- ... that the Australian contribution to UNTAG in Namibia was Australia's first large peacekeeping military operation.
- Thanks for your help :-)
