The article was created less than a week ago, has enough characters and is neutral. There are a few minor copyvios [1], specifically the phrases “he won the gold medal at the” and “to breach the 8 metre mark” which are word for word copies of the “My next goal is to reach the final”. These will need to be corrected before the hook can be promoted. Also, you should change twice to “two times” in the hook, which was another instance of close wording that I corrected myself. The claim that Sharma is going to the 2016 Olympics, which appears in your hook, is uncited in the article but beyond this there are no citation issues. The hook contains less than 200 characters, and is neutral and interesting. QPQ is done and there are no images. In conclusion, fix the close-wording issues and cite the Olympic claim, and this hook will be good to go. Spirit of Eagle (talk) 05:48, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for taking up the review. I agree "to breach the 8 metre mark" might need rewording, although Earwig's Copyvio Detector doesn't think so. However I don't think the phrase "he won the gold medal at the" can be called a copyvio. That is the most common way of saying someone won the gold medal at an event (see WP:LIMITED and the number of times the phrase is used on Wikipedia). The same can be said regarding the usage of "twice". I have now cited the fact that Sharma is going to the Olympics and also changed "to breach" to "to go past". An inline citation has been added and an instance of close-paraphrasing has been addressed. Also, I agree with the reasoning put forward regarding the other supposed instances, and am no longer objecting to these instances. As such, this hook is good to go.
