Agnes Twiston Hughes

Created by Kosack (talk). Self-nominated at 09:47, 5 August 2019 (UTC).

  • Creation date and length fine, reference checks out. Need QPQ review (as identified by nominator). Without being too pernickety, I don't think "first woman in Wales" = "first Welsh woman". Is that being too anal? The "first woman in Wales" isn't necessarily Welsh, and Hughes didn't quality in Wales, rather at the UoL, so wasn't in Wales. The cited sentence in the article uses the wording "... the first Welsh woman to qualify..." so I'd suggest an ALT:
ALT 1: ... that Agnes Twiston Hughes was the first Welsh woman to qualify as a solicitor?
ALT 2: ... that in 1923, Agnes Twiston Hughes became the first Welsh woman to qualify as a solicitor?

  • @MIDI: Thanks for the review, I did wonder myself if that was the correct wording. Happy to go with the ALT suggestions you added (ALT1 perhaps?). Added in my QPQ as well. Kosack (talk) 19:35, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Good to go on ALT1 then! MIDI (talk) 08:11, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
