1986 The Winston edit

Atlanta International Raceway in Hampton, Georgia
Atlanta International Raceway in Hampton, Georgia

Created by Areaseven (talk). Nominated by Sudhakarbira (talk) at 07:03, 25 January 2019 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - See above.
  • Interesting: No - The hook makes no sense in its current state, and wouldn't be awfully interesting to a wide audience in its intended state.

Image eligibility:

QPQ: None required.

Overall: This article has potential for DYK, but I would consult with the main contributor. Areaseven, your thoughts? SounderBruce 08:21, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

  • @Sudhakarbira: Please keep discussion of the DYK on this page instead of talk pages, just to reduce confusion. The article is still ineligible for DYK because it lacks Inline citations at the end of each statement (or at the very least, each paragraph), which means we can't verify the accuracy of the content. The hook you've proposed above also does not make grammatical sense, nor does it whet the interest of a typical reader...an event at a certain place being hosted there only once is pretty normal and pedestrian, unless there was another circumstance. SounderBruce 22:31, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
  • @SounderBruce: Please find the hook citation, It is very much available under the Heading Schedule at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_NASCAR_Winston_Cup_Series
  • @Sudhakarbira: You have to add appropriate inline citations to reliable sources at the end of ALL paragraphs in the article. You also need to come up with a new, more interesting hook. SounderBruce 16:38, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
  • Seeing as the editor hasn't attempted to improve the article to meet DYK requirements, I'm closing this nomination. SounderBruce 20:41, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
I've left Areaseven a talk page message inviting them to this discussion, to see if they will be willing to address the article issues. If there's no action done within the next few days, this can be closed. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:15, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Close the nomination. This article is still a work in progress. - Areaseven (talk) 13:18, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
@Areaseven: Are you sure? If you are able to resolve the article issues in a prompt manner, this can still go through. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:22, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Yes. There's no enough information online to fully support the article. Save the nomination for another time. - Areaseven (talk) 10:22, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
