The Gettysburg Commission Reports citation standardizes the Wikipedia reference and hyperlink formats to the HTML version of the reports. The reports were typically published shortly after the end of the June 30 reporting period and stopped after the last member of the commission had died on March 8, 1922. Later publication was continued by the park superintendent and continued until 1933 when the Gettysburg National Military Park was transferred to the National Park Service.

The template uses the following parameters:

  • version: the year from this list. This parameter is used to specify which version of the report is used, specify the correct title for that edition and the correct publication date. If this is left blank, the template links only to the main list. In the year 1932, two separate reports were published; 1932 links to the main report and 1932a links to the separate outline.
  • dateform: the publication date can be switched to appear in different formats to match an article's format. Use:
    • "dmy" for 9 May 2010
    • "mdy" for May 9, 2010
    • "iso" for 2010-05-09 (this is the default if the parameter is not specified.)
  • accessdate: the date the report was accessed for use in the article.
