The template is designed to display a link to Australian Baseball League teams. It is not intended to be used in the prose of an article, but in infoboxes, tables and the like.

Usage

edit

The first parameter is the code for the team to be displayed. Alternatively, any other text can be used, and will be displayed unlinked with a grey question mark icon. This is intended for situations where a placeholder is required in anticipation of a particular team being used at that position on the page at some point in the future. The codes are:

Example
Code Produces
{{ABL team | SYD}} Sydney Blue Sox
{{ABL team | To be determined}} To be determined

The final unnamed parameter is used to determine the text of the link displayed to the team article, when a code is used for the first parameter, rather than showing the full name of the team. If the first parameter is normal text, this will be ignored.

  • s or short - the three letter code used in the first parameter
  • c or city - the city of the team only
  • m or mascot - the mascot of the team only
Example
Code Produces
{{ABL team | CAN}} Canberra Cavalry
{{ABL team | CAN | s}} CAN
{{ABL team | CAN | c}} Canberra
{{ABL team | CAN | m}} Cavalry

The remaining parameter is named season, and is used to link to the season articles for the team without changing the text displayed. The values used match those of the article titles: e.g. for the inaugural season of the league, use 2010–11.
