Guys how come they deletedc the Cover Wall section I created edit

Microsoft hasn't announced yet but rumors are surfacing that Microsoft will create a Cover Art view for Zune to be a competitor to Apple's Cover Flow and Microsoft created the Cover Wall well actually borrowed from Cooliris but since it's not patented they used it and modified it. A different version of it is present in Windows 7 RC1 in Windows Media Center. Cover Wall in Zune HD is similar to the Cooliris plug-in in Firefox and other browsers. It consist of more likely 5 rows though some rumors suggest 3 rows only like in Windows Media Center (Windows 7 when playing music in WMC). Guys just put it in as a rumored feature. It's not yet in the ES or engineering sample of Zune HD since it was still in development and it still is or maybe. Its just a rumor so put it in as a rumor. It is more likely that this is true but for now jsut a rumor. I mean Microsoft has created a like-prototype of it in Windows Media Center in Windows 7 RC.

As you said, its just a rumor. Not a even a popular rumor at it too. All the other rumors have some substantial evidence propping them up but this doesnt. Plus per your own words, its still in developement and not yet even in the zune, so what makes you so certain its going to be in the zune? If its a verifiable/credible rumor with some evidence, you can add it to the article and list a source/reference but since this rumor is not credible and is just basically a hope that microsoft will have cover wall in the zune ui, it has no place in this article. --Killeroid (talk) 14:25, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is it significant? edit

In the section, see also, why are the ipod touch and nintendo ds related or significant at all? Just because they are competitors? Most of all the nintendo dsi being mentioned I find ridiculous. Something of more important value relating to the zune hd should be in that section. Maybe See Also: - Microsoft - Zune (brand) - 720 resolution - HD radio - Zune.net

24.46.97.106 (talk) 20:32, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't see how the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DSi are related, since they are video game consoles and the Zune HD is a media player. I'll make some edits. -09SentraSpecV (talk) 09:42, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I was wondering if it would be significant to mention the Zune HD's new Pin System, but I have no idea where to put it, or whether it's worth mentioning. Tsunamipanda05 (talk) 04:38, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Zune HD Website edit

Should it be worth noting that there is a website for the Zune HD that has been registered, but as of now, has no content? 76.29.243.75 (talk) 01:26, 15 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Now they are trying to hide that by saying its for buying Zune HDDs. Which sounds false, otherwise it would be "zunehdd.net." Microsoft usually sucks at keeping stuff under wraps, but they are going the extra mile this time. I cant even find concept art of this thing...--Ryudo (talk) 23:43, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
I doubt they are affiliated with Microsoft, as it says on the bottom of the page: "Zune is a registered trademark of Microsoft. We are not associated in any way with Microsoft." --09SentraSpecV (talk) 11:26, 22 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Probably a coverup, as that wasnt there when the site was first created. They have also not responded to my attempted communication. The site got changed again. They are "taking a little break." Weird MS and their mind games ~_~.--Ryudo (talk) 23:16, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Zunehd.net was a fake site that everyone jumped on hoping it was real. An artical on Zunited explains that the site was registed to a "Zune Guru" and was nothing to do with Microsoft.Complete Prat (talk) 23:55, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Nice find. -1 point for me then.--Ryudo (talk) 18:10, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Zune HD is going International, it is not U.S exclusive! edit

The CNet article says that "..Microsoft plans to offer the new Zune video service in a number of European markets, in addition to North America." Several other tech news websites - including Neowin.net - have also reported that Zune HD will go International. (Mulaku Soru (talk) 07:25, 27 May 2009 (UTC))Reply

Indeed. What gave you the idea that it was US only? We've known for ages that this product will begin Zune's new venture in Europe. --Meph (talk) 16:57, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
The passage from the press release that reads "Available in the U.S. this fall, Zune HD is the..." suggest that the Zune HD is going to be launched only in the US in the fall and that its only existing devices and the software platform that is getting an international launch. It might be that Microsoft are planning a staggered launch so that they don't run out of units like they did with the Zune80/120. Complete Prat (talk) 00:03, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Still only in the U.S anyone know when this will change--74.13.90.84 (talk) 15:48, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Maybe around the time of Zune HD 2 later this year --Aizuku (talk) 18:40, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Storage Capacity edit

It hasn't been announced yet as far as I know. So I'm wondering whey someone listed 16gb,32gb and 64gb in the info box. I am delete that until its confirmed and someone can provide a source/reference --Killeroid (talk) 19:11, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

There's a rumor circulating that it will come in only 16 and 32GB with with 16GB being black and the 32GB being silver. The same rumor also speculates for a September 8 release, something that has been circulating way before the rumors of the September 5 release. The Sept. 8th release seems more viable as electronic products are usually released on Tuesdays. -- Tsunamipanda05 (talk)15:02, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

There isnt any solid evidence of a 16 and a 32GB model for the Zune HD? I find that very hard to believe. No one has found evidence of this fact? --~AlienSix(WeComeAlive) 08:28, 23 August 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coolaaron88 (talkcontribs)

Zune HD is fake. edit

Why make an article about something that does not exist? And even if it did, no one would buy it except MS employees who shouldn't count as consumers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spartan9199 (talkcontribs) 17:25, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Zune HD capacity edit

The specific citation is not listed under the specifications section, and this appears to be solely rumor. 75.190.236.128 (talk) 03:57, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Zune HD News edit

This link points to Zunited.net which is not an official news source for Zune. It should be removed from that section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.156.4.223 (talk) 02:42, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I changed the link to point to Zuneinsider.com as that is an officially sanctioned Zune news site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.156.4.223 (talk) 02:58, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Zune HD/Tegra AXP: 8 independent processors edit

I've read through all of the references that were given, as well as the page on the Tegra processor and it's references, and I cannot find even one mention of 8 processors in the Zune, or 8 cores on the processor. I feel safe in removing this claim completely from the Zune HD page until someone can find an actual reference. Zippanova 05:22, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unicode support edit

The Specifications section claiming "unicode support" should really say full unicode fonts. The current Zune firmware (Windows Mobile) has always had full unicode support in terms of the OS and filesystem; the only issues was the fonts not being available. --64.46.4.213 (talk) 06:01, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Development/SDK edit

Removed misleading statement about non-availability of development and development restrictions. Added a reference to the Microsoft XNA 3.1 notice with notes concerning the Zune HD.

Please confirm this edit

Please Confirm this: "Integration with the Xbox 360 has been reported to be under development. Games, Gamertags and many other Xbox 360 features are to be incorporated into Zune HD to utilize the Tegra processor inside and compete as a gaming device." It's under games. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.215.133.20 (talk) 00:01, 7 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Zune HD sales edit

I think it's worth mentioning that it sold out due to the low supply early on, and now it doesn't chart on Amazon's 50 top selling electronics -the 32GB Zune HD has actually moved to 48th last I checked- The article gives the impression that the Zune HD is in high demand, which is dubious. Until Microsoft reports the numbers, we have no idea how much it sold or whether it was high demand or low supply. --Aizuku (talk) 09:27, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm probably responding in an improper way, so feel free to fix this:
I was looking at the Release section as a whole (which included the bit about high demand) and made the executive decision to delete the whole damned thing. The section was basically comprised of dubious information, information that was worded to bring the reader to the wrong conclusions, and citations that were inaccurate. What the section said was that there was High demand initially, and that the zune was sold out in many places, etc. Further, that it would be released in Canada Feb 10, 2010. This was followed by a citation that was retrieved recently (Dec 23, 2009), which simply said that the Zune was sold out in most areas (due to christmas sales, presumably). If someone wants to go and reverse that section to a prior incarnation that is without this misinformation, then power to you.
Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.111.2.52 (talk) 03:55, 27 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I don't want to engage in an edit war. We need input from other editors before attempting to edit the Sales section. The Zune article has a similar problem, and as we now know, the Zune (before the Zune HD) had at best 2% of the market. --Aizuku (talk) 10:12, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Amazon.com has a $30 discount on the Zune HD 16GB. If anything, proves it is not in strong demand. --Aizuku (talk) 08:00, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

3 million edit

No where does it say there were 3 million Zune HD sold. I've checked the link. At least would someone fix the link? --Aizuku (talk) 07:12, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

30 million edit

The article now says 30 million units, is there any source for this? Apple sells 50 million iPods a year, spread across all models and the iPod sells worldwide. I find it hard to believe the Zune HD can sell 30 million units in 6 months in the US only. --Aizuku (talk) 21:04, 10 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Any figures edit

Are there any figures out there that shows Zune HD sales so far? or should we wait until Apple talks about it later this year? --Aizuku (talk) 14:03, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

AVI Support edit

In a recent patch (I forgot exactly which one), Microsoft added AVI container support to the Zune Software and the HD itself. Where should we make a note of this? Should we add a "container" category to the playback formats? FstrthnU (talk) 05:56, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ah wait, I found it on an article for Version 4.5. [1] FstrthnU (talk) 05:59, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cable or port ? edit

Why is there no mention of the kind/type style of cable being used for the HD? Isn't it some kind of custom cable/port? same as iPod? other? etc... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.187.118.19 (talk) 20:35, 4 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
