I just discovered a clip on the bbc = https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-49963569/inside-the-abandoned-soviet-base-the-cold-war-left-behind. 75,000 people lived there (Wünsdorf) but now it's empty while housing is a big problem in the Berlin area.
