The peculiar case of Zlatar[-]Bistrica

edit

It is not fully clear how to correctly spell it:

From this, it looks plausible that Central Bureau of Statistics gets it wrong both in the census and the Yearbook, while everyone else gets it right. Notionally, Zlatar-Bistrica, with a dash, suggests agglomeration of two settlements, Zlatar and Bistrica, and I don't believe this to be the case.

Pinging Rethymno regarding the recent page move. GregorB (talk) 08:04, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Official name of the sttlement and town is Zlatar-Bistrica with (-) by Central bureau of Statistics, even more logica would be Zlatar Bistrica same as Marija Bistrica, there is no reason for (-), but official is official. Settlement is built on a "half way" between old towns Zlatar and Marija Bistrica, from that it have its name, it's not (as i know) made from two settlements.--Rethymno (talk) 09:33, 26 July 2018 (UTC) Same thing is with the town of Ivanić-Grad, also with (-) even that "Grad"suggest difference of neighburing settlement Ivanić-Kloštar (officialy Kloštar Ivanić) which is written without symbol (-). But what to do...:)It is like it is: Zlatar-Bistrica and Ivanić-Grad and on the other side Marija Bistrica and Kloštar Ivanić.--Rethymno (talk) 09:44, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough, but how could it be that DZS supposedly gets it right, and everybody else, including the municipality itself, on its website, gets it wrong? GregorB (talk) 13:49, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
