On page 27 of Stefan Czarniecki 1998 book (full text not available on Google Books, I am using a paper copy I own), Leszek Podhorodecki, a reputable historian, states very clearly what is written in the article: Poles had 12,000, and Ukrainians had a numerical superiority at 20,000.
