Clarify grammar edit

"ZetaGrid was at one time the largest distributed computing project designed to explore roots of the Riemann zeta function"

Can somebody (depending on what this is supposed to mean) insert after the word "designed": (a) either "," or ", which was"; or (b) " that was"

I can't tell what the meaning is. Thanks
