Gender and race

edit

Don't get me wrong, as I strongly feel Wanrow was justified in killing this sick pedophile--I'd have killed him too if he'd tried to attack my son, but the way this article is written makes it sound like she was justified in doing so because she was Indian and female. Does this mean in the exact same circumstances that a white male would not be justified in killing the pedophile? It should not matter what gender or race someone is in such a case, what matters is the defense of one self or defense of another person.Rlevse 01:22, 23 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your comment on the article. Indeed, the justices ruling in the case did find that her gender and ethnicity were factors in her reception of an unfair trial. For more information about why, you can follow the external links or check out the texts used as references from your local library. If you feel that the article is written from a certain point of view, feel free to point out how and why on the talk page, and then to improve it yourself. I also welcome criticisms on my talkpage.--Rockero 04:29, 23 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Changes

edit

A while back, 216.178.50.197 changed several pieces of information relating to the events on the day of the murder. These changes contradicted the court testimony, the transcript of which served as my source for the article. I asked the editor where he or she got the information on his or her talkpage but never received any response. I am wondering whether or not to restore my version...--Rockero 19:07, 12 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your version is sourced, and with a good source. The other is not. I'd give the writer some time to respond, but if you've already done that, I'd revert. Rbraunwa 19:59, 12 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

To do to improve

edit

I hope some law student fleshes out the bit on the Wanrow Defense.--Rockero 08:36, 18 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Not only does Rockero's comment needs to be addressed, this article needs both in-line references and more references. CJLippert 00:18, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Last name Swan

edit

She changed her last name from "Wanrow" to "Swan" and most all of the sources use the name "Swan" as the primary name for this person. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 21:37, 22 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
