How will global warming impact the ice patches? Will the artifacts found in the ice change some history because they will provide new evidence? Why do the ice patches form only in the Yukon?

The article's content gets off-topic. Explains the history of Yukon ice Patches with the artifacts found in the melting ice. Another page should be made to explain the importance of the ice patches, which should be discussed in another article that is linked to explain the significance of the ice melting. The content needs to be updated, as the temperatures warm more artifacts will be uncovered. The content that doesn’t belong is the history of the ice patches. Should explain more about how they are formed and how they are only made in the Yukon. Equity gaps are that Northern Canada is often forgotten about and there is little discussion about what is going on about there. This article brings interest to the Yukon.

Tone and balance

The tone is neutral and informative. The author does not hold a position. The viewpoint that is underrepresented of caribou is not on the land anymore but evidence that proves they once were. Minority viewpoints on the significance of the uncovered artifacts. No persuading throughout the article.

Links work beside one that does not exist anymore. Backed up by mostly reliable sources, two of the sources are the Yukon Government website. One of the sources acknowledges and provides background information about the Indigenous communities that lived on the land for thousands of years. Not current sources. New research has been done so the information needs to be updated. Recent warmer temperatures may have thawed out new artifacts. The article was written by a diverse spectrum of authors including archaeologists and Indigenous Elders. The spectrum of authors work together to explain the historical significance of the artifacts and their meanings to Indigenous culture. There are better, more reliable peer-reviewed and more recent sources available that could be used to update the source.

Images and media

The only image the article includes is an image of a map of the Yukon. The image does not have a caption beside a label that says map of Yukon. The picture adheres to Wikipedia’s copyright regulations; the picture was an original from the author. The image is not laid out in a visually appealing way. It interferes with the layout of the text, isn’t needed and is not a good map.

Organization and writing quality

Too simplified and concise, and could use more in-depth information. But overall the article was well-written and easy to read. No grammar or spelling mistakes were noticed. The subcategories were well broken down and explained what the category title stated.

Talk page

On the talk page, no conversations are going on behind the scenes. The article is rated low importance but it is a part of the Wikiprojects of archaeology, soil and Canada. A conversation that should be brought up is that there is real evidence that proves that caribou once roamed the land and how they can be brought back to their native land.  Daniellleee0982 (talk) 18:07, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
