As a comedian he performed several times in the Royal theatre Carré in Amsterdam. He is a columnist for a major Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad. His bundled columns are best sellers in the Netherlands. As a result of his New Year show in 1989 the Heineken brand Buckler was taken out of the market in the Netherlands.
