This article still needs substantial work. I work on this taxon and have taken the liberty of adding many citations to the page to assist other contributors as I don't have the time myself to sit down and re-write the article. Youngina is a complex and deprived of adequate study in the existing literature but a very important keystone taxon in the early evolution of reptiles, and it definitely deserves the time spent to fix it up. I have removed the skull diagram that was on this page since it is highly inaccurate (compared against drawings from the literature and pers. obs. of the material). Several Permo-Triassic reptile researchers are working actively on this taxon and new papers describing its anatomy are on the near horizon (earliest mid-Summer 2010?). Thank you very much! Oh, and in regards to your earlier edit summary, I was thinking "snout-vent" when I saw your edit. The cranial length is 7 cm, not SVL. SVL was estimated by Gow. 7 cm for cranial length is very reasonable for something in the range of small to mid sized monitor lizards. Also, this article still needs substantial revision. I have tried to make a few small fixes, ideas are attributed wrongly, etc. 71.61.150.32 (talk) 17:24, 28 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
