Has this person got no idea that Dr Evil is actually modelled on Blofeld completely?? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 19:02, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Style
editUnder WikiProject James Bond, I am going to create a plot summary at the top of the article and move the second paragraph into a separate section on cinematic style, for simplicity's sake. Editus 17:44, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
A 1966 "Premier" of You Only Live Twice at The Claremont Colleges?
editIs it true that EON Productions staged a premier of sorts for You Only Live Twice very late in 1966 at Garrison Theater in The Associated Colleges of Claremont (California)?
If so, what details and documentation can anyone provide, please? (Exactly when, with what attendance, personal details {photos??}, et cetera) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wortschätzer (talk • contribs) 08:52, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Japanese actors overdubbed?
editI've seen several site indicate that many of the Japanese cast's voices were dubbed over with native English ones, and I could notice this in the film as well. Anyone know for sure? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.187.60.2 (talk) 21:47, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Referenced in the Speed Racer film
editThe scene where Aki is killed is copied in the 2008 Speed Racer film where a ninja drips a narcotic (instead of poison) into the mouth of race car driver Taejo Togokhan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bizzybody (talk • contribs) 23:03, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Ninja
editAFAIK this was the movie which popularised ninjas in Western popular culture. Can anyone verify this? Maikel (talk) 19:47, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Critical reception: are the references contemporary to the film?
editAre the references to the critical reception to this film the ones actually from that era itself? It seems out of place to lead off the section with a Rotten Tomatoes rating as that site of course did not exist in 1967.--Msr69er (talk) 12:42, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
typo?
editSean Connery's then wife Diane Cilento had to make the swimming scenes for at least five Japanese actresses, including Mie Hama.
- Should that be swimming suits? The current sentence, in the context of the article, makes no sense at all at the moment. --Azertus (talk) 12:43, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
VOLCANO?

Discussion pertaining to non-free image(s) used in article
editA cleanup page has been created for WP:FILMS' spotlight articles. One element that is being checked in ensuring the quality of the articles is the non-free images. Currently, one or more non-free images being used in this article are under discussion to determine if they should be removed from the article for not complying with non-free and fair use requirements. Please comment at the corresponding section within the image cleanup listing. Before contributing the discussion, please first read WP:FILMNFI concerning non-free images. Ideally the discussions pertaining to the spotlight articles will be concluded by the end of June, so please comment soon to ensure there is clear consensus. --Happy editing! Little Nellie / Nellie Wallace
editI was just listening to a radio interview with Ken Wallis, inventor of Little Nellie, who said that it was a reference to Nellie Wallace, since she had a similar surname. Haven't looked hard but I can't actually find any reference to this fact. Is it enough to cite this radio interview? If so I'm not sure how! I thought it was a good fact to add to this article, since it's otherwise unexplained why it's called Nellie.Gymnophoria (talk) 17:42, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
You Only Live Twice Revert
editHello. My changes on <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Only_Live_Twice_%28film%29> were not unnecessary plot bloat. Rather there were several items. One was an out of order sequence that need to be adjusted. Secondly there were some transitions needed, which were essential to the plot, without which the plot doesn't make sense or is misleading. Also I added "confidential" to "confidential secretary" as that is what she is called in the film, and there is a difference between a secretary and a confidential secretary. I am undoing your revert with this explanation. There is 193 characters added in total. If you want to further reduce the plot, please do so, but reverting makes the article lower in quality and accuracy. --Jeffmcneill (talk) 07:31, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
- Your additions were bloating, I'm afraid. Please see WP:FILMPLOT for details of summarising a film including keeping it clear of minutiae. This would involve details such as "amorous interlude" etc. keeping such details out of the plot does not damage our understanding of the storyline in anyway. - SchroCat (talk) 10:10, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, the plot is supposed to be a summary, I support the revert. Although I have a feeling that the "Bond and Aki investigate the company's dock facilities and discover that the ship was delivering elements for rocket fuel" did occur before the scene on the boat with Helga and then the plane scene.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:32, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
- OK: I've moved that accordingly. - SchroCat (talk) 20:43, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

- You wrote that I should look at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:BRD> but maybe you forgot what is in there. BRD is not meant to encourage reverts! In fact, you went back and paid some attention to what I said. However, as you edited the plot is still incorrect or at least misleading. Perhaps you should review this particular film, or let other wikipedians update the accuracy of plotlines you don't recall clearly. --Jeffmcneill (talk) 11:18, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
- You seriously think that amorous interlude has no bearing on the plot of the film? It was the very reason Bond was able to escape (and was the cause of Helga's own demise). Bond was attempting to bribe his way out, but that is not what actually happened. Sex and subterfuge. This is an essential part of the plot. SPECTRE must be behind this attempt to change the plot, or sleeping editors! --Jeffmcneill (talk) 04:09, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
Japan Discrepancy
editIn "You Only Live Twice," (1967) Bond mentions that he has never been to Japan before. However, in the film "From Russia with Love" (1962),while taping with Tatiana Romanova about the Lecter, Bond mentions an "affair" of sorts when he and M were in Tokyo (we never get the details as M cuts off the tape out of embarrassment)
Casting
editI see no mention of What's Up Tiger Lily? in the casting but both Waka and Hama were in that film. I'd say it's not a coincidence both were cast. Can anybody find a source connecting them?♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:22, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
@SchroCat:?♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:42, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunately Akiko Wakabayashi's hairstyle in YOLT didn't do her beauty justice. If you watch her in Tiger Lily she was absolutely stunning without the fringe! Ohh man... [1] ;-) They made her much less hot in Bond and somewhat mumsy, it should be the other way around!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:43, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

China?
editIf the men who met Blofeld were representatives of China, you would expect them in that era to be wearing Mao suits.--Jack Upland (talk) 03:02, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
