Talk:YouGov/Archives/2019

Latest comment: 5 years ago by ParWoet in topic Is it located in London or USA?

I've yet to see any formal material that suggests YouGov is operating in any sense on behalf of the Conservative Party. They are a widely used market research company. However, I have seen online memes from certain quarters produced to dispute poor polling performance of their favoured politicians/party. I've already removed one gratuitous reference - that the CP commissioned research from YouGov. Lots of organisations commission research from them, including the Labour Party. I suggest a brief references to the background of the two founders in a history section. A standalone section seems unjustified in terms of NPOV.OsFish (talk) 02:41, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Is it located in London or USA?

The wiki states that yougov is headquartered in London.

However the yougov website lists offices in ten cities in USA, but none in UK. There is no mention of London on their entire website. Their telephone numbers too are all of the US.

Hence the information on London in this wiki appears to be erroneous. It is also sans any reference. Hence I propose to correct this error. Notthebestusername (talk) 10:50, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

This is not rocket science. The site you visited was the US site, which is not the HQ company website.
If you visit yougov.com you will see that the locations and contacts are in the USA. But if you visit yougov.co.uk, you will find all the locations and contacts are in the UK. That is the common approach for companies with a presence in both US and UK. However, the headquarters location is what is important here, and that is Britain.
  • Because the company headquarters is in Britain, I have edited the article to replace the three existing mentions of yougov.com to yougov.co.uk, in line with all the other URLs that refer to the company.PårWöet (talk) 09:48, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
