Style template

edit

While Yoshinkan definately is a major style of aikido, I find that the template about "major styles" adds little to the article but adds the problem about the definition of "major style". I have removed the template from the articles and started a discussion at Template talk:Major styles of aikido. // habj 11:56, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

In need of work

edit

This article needs a lot of work. I'm not a member of this style and only know a little about it, so would be happy for help from a member who knows how WP articles are supposed to be written. Currently the article sounds too much like a handbook and has a POV feel. And the links to videos and all but the first two external links have got to go. I'll get to this if no one better qualified does. Djiann (talk) 07:11, 19 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

No kidding. The External links section is embarrassing. Only the main Yoshinkan international site and the hombu dojo should be linked, and maybe one or two YouTube videos of high quality that are very clear examples of Yoshinkan being different from aikikai. I flagged it with {{NoMoreLinks}} and {{Too many links|date=June 2008}}Heroeswithmetaphors (talk) 01:05, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good Job So Far

edit

I myself do hold a Shodan in Yoshinkan, and think this article is rather good, but should have some more specific information, like in what year Shioda Gozo opened the Yoshinkan.

To 66.41.255.55: I'd like to know your justification for putting these links back. I removed them based on solid WP policy. I don't like edit wars, but I will remove them again unless you can justify the action. Djiann (talk) 02:25, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

And perhaps we should limit the videos to "shihan" or "shibucho" rank, or 8th dan and above. Not that there aren't some really excellent videos by others! Aikidoshi (talk) 16:42, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
