Talk:Yorktown High School Theatre

Comments edit

I'm concerned that this article is unencyclopedic. It goes into depth about the course structure of a specific department within a local public high school. The curriculum itself is not particularly notable for its unorthodox teaching style or capable results. Wikipedia should be kept a place to present notable or socially important topics and issues. After seeing some comments on the discussion page of YHS proper, I am more confident in believing that this may not be appropriate wiki information. This isn't an online course catalog, but a repository for notable human knowledge and culture. Thoughts/input? Sdej 20:23, 27 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

With this newest added paragraph that begins "as a side note" I once again strongly question the need of placement for this article. We are now delving into intrapersonal relationships between individual and very ordinary people. "The Janitorial Staff frequently makes requests of techies." This is an encyclopedia. Should this be on the same playing field as Michael Jordan or Carnegie Hall? This is more and more begining to feel like a vanity page. Sdej 03:38, 1 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I see exactly what you mean by your comments, and have done a mssive overhaul of the page. Much of the content added such as the "Janitorial staff" comment have been added by a rogue editor who has added similar content to the page prior to it being a seperate article from the main yorktown high school page TauntingElf 03:18, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is a vanity page of very scarce notability and as such should be deleted. Ashmoo 06:14, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
