Mad Guy from Scotland edit

Is this an actual bit of slang from Scotland or vandelism? Medic48 03:08, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can accept yolk, for coherency with the wiktionary which lists yoke as a common mistake for yolk. But not joke. Per WP:MOS, a "see also" section "can include such items as:

  • Terms which can be confused with Title, for example New Market and Newmarket
  • Likely misspellings of Title, for example Belmont, Belmonte and Bellmont
  • Different forms of Title, for example Splitting, Split, and Splitter
  • Links to indexes of article titles beginning with Title (using All pages with titles beginning with Title) and/or article titles containing Title (using All pages with titles containing Title)".

Adding joke for the thin reason that "in many languages "j" is pronounced "y", so it is a potential homophone for many non-native English speakers." is quite - say - creative. Why not jok, yukk!, yukke, yacht, chalk and yak (disambiguation)? This can go quite far. I doubt DABs should become lists of potential homophonies. Let's stick to likely ones.Racconish Tk 06:44, 18 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
