Compare?

edit

Go into the history for this article (not the talk page) and compare the two revisions listed below:

  • 22:07, 25 Oct 2004 68.117.57.156 (Yield management system)
  • 00:54, 10 Oct 2004 Mat334

Does anyone else feel that my revision is easier to understand than this latest revision? More concise? The changes made by 68.117.57.156 are not incorrect, but they do complicate the article somewhat IMHO. If you agree, please revert it. Mat334 20:20, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

this article needs some simple economics injected into it.

These two articles seem to be describing the same process under two different names. However, not knowing enough about either, I submit to you: are they separate systems? Would merging the articles be inappropriate? --NsevsTalk 14:42, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

textbook references

edit

there is a far too long list of papers. how about the great textbooks of talluri and van ryzin (the theory and practice of revenue management) and phillips (revenue and pricing optimization)?

I removed everything but links which meet the WP:EL guidelines, to keep it from being a spam repository. Carl.bunderson (talk) 03:43, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

AP Restrictions

edit

The section about Airlines mentions "AP Restrictions" and uses terms like "20ap" with no explanation of that is an AP Restriction. I don't know. Somebody, please fix this. Jmatxx (talk) 11:24, 22 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Definition

edit

That is not a definition. It's mostly a list of attributes: "complex", "multidisciplinary", et al. The bit about it being a "set of yield maximization strategies"... um, what the heck are those? I'm a trained microeconomist and "yield" sounds like something a farmer would attempt. Really, the three conditions under the "Use by industry" section do a far better job of narrowing down what the heck this article is about. 65.211.179.9 (talk) 13:30, 22 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

I might just yank the definition section until someone (maybe me) can figure out a better one. No need to keep it up there when it’s not adding anything. PixelatedVolume (talk) 02:32, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
