Talk:Yermo, California

Questions edit

  • How come there's no automatic census data in this article?
  • What crop is grown on the pie chart farm visible from satellite images to the south and east of Yermo?
  • Is there a sign welcoming visitors to the town, and if so, has anyone changed it to read "Yermom"?

Location of Knotts Berry Farm edit

The article says the Farm is in Los Angeles. It's actually in Orange County, Buena Park I believe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.94.241.240 (talk) 02:52, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

You're correct; I've fixed. – AndyFielding (talk) 05:37, 16 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Removed dubious claim edit

Removed the claim that the Calico restoration was Knott's inspiration for Knott's Berry Farm. Knott purchased Calico in 1952 (or '51 by some sources); the construction of a "ghost town" at Knott's Berry Farm began a decade earlier. Knott spent parts of his childhood in dying Calico, and that is as likely an inspiration for the Knott's Berry Farm atmosphere as for his wish to restore Calico. That said, this article is about Yermo... I tried to integrate the info, to suggest Calico's importance to Yermo, but it still seems unbalanced. Richigi (talk) 03:23, 6 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for mentioning this; it is indeed a popular misconception. I've added a bit about Knott's real connections to Calico. – AndyFielding (talk) 05:59, 16 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
