Yates edit

My grandfather Victor Sokovnin was friends with one of the industrialists Yatesov, who gave money for the construction of a private primary school in the village of Zavodouspenskoe [1], where my grandmother taught.depo (talk) 17:51, 27 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Relation with Yeats edit

The article (currently) states that the name Yates is "best associated with the Poet Laureate of Ireland, William Butler Yeats" (emphasis mine), but no explanation is given for the difference in spelling (are these names actually related? if so, how?), and the articles on Yeats (the poet or the name) don't (currently) mention the name Yates at all.

Is this a mistake? Does the comment about the association with the Irish poet belong in the Yeats (surname) article instead? Or are the names actually related?

I'm not knowledgeable in the field at all, but it would be good if someone who is could clarify that. 95.90.235.121 (talk) 13:07, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
