Talk:Yarrawonga, Queensland

Is there really a suburb called Yarrawonga in Townsville? edit

I am a bit dubious about this place because it isn't listed in Queensland Place Names which is usually pretty comprehensive. There is a Yarrawonga Drive in the Castle Hill area, which does appear to have some expensive real estate, but that's a street not a suburb. The original information come from a very new editor who hasn't edited since. I can't turn up anything authoritative that supports its existence as a suburb. Although I am fundamentally an inclusionist, I am nonetheless tempted to suggest this article should go. What do others think? 03:11, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

There is nothing in Queensland in both the Australian Census or Google Maps. Its probably a locality within Castle Hill, Queensland and should be merged and re-directed there. We a reference to confirm that however. This may be reliable enough. - Shiftchange (talk) 03:32, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Even localities (bounded and unbounded) get listed in the Queensland Place Names. The only reference I could find on the Townsville Council web site was to the street and to the Yarrawonga subdivision, which is consistent with the mention of the "developers of Yarrawonga" in relation to the bunker. It sounds like it is the name of a property development. Kerry (talk) 03:48, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
It has been listed in the Townsville navbox though for some years, but it's unclear where that list of place names came from. Kerry (talk) 03:51, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
This Townsville Council document describes Yarrawonga as a subdivision in Castle Hill. I think this is a good enough reference to justify merging it into Castle Hill article. Kerry (talk) 03:55, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Since it's been uncontroversial for some months, I went ahead and redirected the page to Castle Hill, Queensland where I added the tiny bit of content from this page (noting it is "citation needed"). Kerry (talk) 03:16, 10 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
