Please note that yhe Yak-42 is currently being used in Cuba by Cubana Airlines they have several aircraft in service.

What is "clobber"? edit

Dear colleagues from the NATO countries, can somebody tell me what is the meaning of the word "clobber" in the context of the NATO nickname "Clobber" for Yak-42 aircraft? There are several meanings in the dictionaries and there is currently a discussion in the Russian wikipedia, which meaning is the intended one. With respect to its use as a code name, the word "Clobber" doesn't (and needn't) mean anything. Codes names were meant only to be distinctive and unmistakable identifiers for various Communist-bloc hardware.--172.190.43.192 (talk) 02:47, 5 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
