Name edit

What was the spelling of his name when he was in Paris and in Moscow? - Privacy 17:49, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good question. His name in Wade-Giles is Hsien Hsing-Hai based on the Mandarin pronunciation. But he could have used transliteration based on Cantonese pronunciation. --Roland 04:39, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

>>Hi wikipedians, I added his assumed name if Huang Xun with ref when he traveled to Moscow, Russia in 1940. Xian at icm.gov.mo SWP13 (talk) 17:10, 17 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Location of birth/ancestry edit

The unsourced information exisiting in this article states he was "Born in Macau with ancestry from Panyu into a poor Tanka sailor family,..." but the two sources I have both claim he was born in Fanyu, Guangdong Province (is this the same as Panyu?). So, I'm unsure whether Macau was part of Guangdong at some point in time or whether I have absolutely conflicting information. I hesitate to replace what's written without a better undertanding of political boundaries in the area at the beginning of the 20th century, but I think I will change it to read like my sources do since the Macau/Panyu ancestry claim is unsourced. ErinNik (talk) 19:22, 27 August 2010 (UTC) >>Majority of people born or lived in Macau are of Chinese ancestry from Guangdong province. It is common for Chinese to specify ancestry or family origin. So I belived the current article info is correct.SWP13 (talk) 17:15, 17 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
