Unexplained cleanup tag

edit

@DonFB: There is a POV cleanup tag on this article, but I don't notice anything wrong with the article's "neutrality." Can you explain why you added this cleanup tag? Jarble (talk) 20:40, 25 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Upon re-visiting this article, I believe it should not be a standalone, but should be merged as a few sentences into the Malaysia article. As currently written, it is quite one-sided, and no one (myself included) has attempted to provide referenced rebuttals or rejoinders. As an independent article, it is seriously unbalanced; if the content is included as part of the overall country article, the issue can be seen as one among many about the challenges and problems which may affect that or any country. Original research

edit

With the exception of the first two citations, much of the rest of this article is pretty much original research. Reliable sources about visas which talk about strict rules about work visas are reinterpreted by the Wikipedia editor into a claim of "xenophobia", when the source says no such thing. There could be plenty of reasons for strict limitations on work visas, including, for example, high unemployment.

Using primary sources (posters with ticket prices for coming events) showing three levels of prices for foreigners and locals are completely worthless for establishing xenophobia in an article, because 1) those sources do not say anything about xenophobia, 2) they are primary sources, and 3) they do not verify the claim in the Wikipedia article. The claim of xenophobia here is purely in the mind of the Wikipedia editor who interprets these sources as xenophobic.

Malaysia may, in fact, show xenophobic reactions, but little in this article past the first two citations supports that. The rest of it is all pure opinion in the mind of a Wikipedia editor, and all of it should be challenged or simply removed as unverified opinion.
