Talk:World record progression 200 metres backstroke

Latest comment: 7 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

Dear Sir or Madam, I took the liberty to join the talk to ask for an addition to world record progression 200m backstroke for women. I found that Satoko Tanaka's world record 2.33.3 back on 24 July, 1960 was again recorded on 30 July, 1961. It is a tied record and was registered in the history of swimming in Japan as in Japan Record Progression by Swimming Magazine 2014.1. It is an official record. To qualify her for one more entry I found the tied record by the same person for World record in world record progression 200 m free stroke for men 58 and 58 twice. (The same record by the different person is also recorded several times in world record progression in swimming.) So, officially, she should have the same record (esp. with a different date) listed without any doubt. I am learning swimming from her. She has been noted as having broken world records in 200m backstroke eleven times. If your data does not match her real records, it will only embarrass her. In passing her records 2.29.6, 2.28.9, 2.28.5 were in 220 yards(about 1m longer) backstroke. (She broke world records in 110 yards backstroke three times, which may have to be in a different category and may not be listed.) I would only like you to add the tied record, as in the case with 200m crawl stroke for men. Yours respectfully,
