[untitled] edit
Needs some verification that a) `Wandex' was ever more than a list of URLs, b) it was possible to access `Wandex' `over the Web' for search purposes. Otherwise, it doesn't really justify the `first search engine' claim, although it may have been the first documented crawler. Credibly Witless (talk) 13:20, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Was WWW Wanderer the first search engine? edit
According to The Search, How Google and its rivals rewrote business and transformed culture by John Battelle, "The Wanderer was a robot that automatically created an index of sites, and Gray hacked up a search interface that allowed users to search the index." (p.41) He goes on to quote Gray himself as saying: "It wasn't the greatest search engine that ever was, but it was the first search engine that ever was". So, what do we make of this???--Evenmadderjon (talk) 15:03, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Chart of the growth of the web? edit
Would it be possible to add to this page a chart of the growth of the web as derived from Wandex data? 2A02:C7C:C48F:5C00:EC96:924A:DF90:C924 (talk) 19:52, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
