Old figures of casualties for Soviet Union

According to newest data from declassified Russian military archives, USSR lost 41'979'000 people, 19'000'000 out of them are military https://polkrf.ru/news/1275/parlamentskie_slushaniya_patrioticheskoe_vospitanie_bessmertnyiy_polk 09:13, 1 December 2017 (UTC) RashidTheChechen

This is a fringe theory that was mentioned by one member of the Russian parliment in Febrary 2017. It has been discredited by academic sources [1] [2], it is not the official position of the Russian government--Woogie10w (talk) 10:58, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
Currently the Russian Ministry of Defense puts the war dead at 26.6 million Cегодня можно с определенной долей вероятности констатировать, что потери Советского Союза составили 26,6 млн человек, в том числе потери Вооруженных Сил составили 8 668 400 военнослужащих Today it can be said with certanity that Soviet losses were 26.6 persons and military losses 8 668 400.[3] --Woogie10w (talk) 11:11, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
Problem is the Soviets have a habit of sucking figures out of their thumbs. Strangely the mass killings by Gulag or execution style murders seem to have been interrupted for the time of the war. 105.14.46.202 (talk) 10:25, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
