Snail's pace of the ASP

Generally, the ASP are slow at providing adequate references to their product. For example, the 2012 ASP World Tour changes announced in the ASP media release dated the 27th of December 2011, titled "ASP Surfers and Board of Directors Vote to Deactivate the Midyear Rotation in 2012", still had not been implemented into the published ASP Rule Book by early January 2012. Numerous other examples have been witnessed. So when accurately updating the Association of Surfing Professionals page you may need to be patient. Factrules (talk) 01:17, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Is Hawaii a Country?

Although Hawaii is a U.S. state in Association of Surfing Professionals sanctioned competitions members allow Hawaiian surfers to compete under their State flag. Refer to World Tour Champions as evidence. All Hawaiian World Champions have now been updated to reflect this practice. Factrules (talk) 01:22, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Predecessor World Championships tables

Should the World Championship records from the predecessor championships to the ASP, namely, the Smirnoff World Pro-Am Surfing Championships, the ISF World Surfing Championships and the IPS World Circuit be included within the Association of Surfing Professionals page? I feel the tabled data should be moved from this page and listed/tabled solely within their own respective Wikipedia page. The surfing organisations are/were separate entities. The information was initially included in the ASP page in an attempt to collate information because there was (and still is) a lack of historical professional surfing information contained within Wikipedia. Multiple World Championships table

Is the Multiple World Championships table of any use? Factrules (talk) 22:23, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

The table is a duplication. Also, there are often debates as to what constitutes a World Championship (mostly relating to the Predecessors to the ASP) and therefore how many a person has won. For example, Mark Richards on his own blog mentions only the world championships he won in 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982 and does not mention the 2001 Grandmasters. Need to update CEO info in there:

Erik Logan, Former Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) President and Executive Vice President at Harpo Studios, was appointed as WSL CEO on January 14, 2020.
