Frontispiece for the Great Instauration edit

I noticed an inaccuracy regarding the frontispiece for Bacon's The Great Instauration. It is incorrectly labelled as that for Novum Organum, which is the second book in The Great Instauration. I am going to make this correction in the main article and also include a brief discussion of the significance of the frontispiece. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atownnative (talkcontribs) 19:52, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Idols of the Marketplace edit

I believe there should be a paragraph add to the discussion of the idols of the mind that explains how Bacon saw the idols of the marketplace as being the most troublesome in creating an accurate understanding of Nature. As it stands, the discussion seems to place all of the idols on equal footing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atownnative (talkcontribs) 14:58, 3 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

I was thinking of adding a new section to this article that would offer an annotated bibliography for recent scholarship on Bacon's works. My hope is that such a section would help guide visitors to the page in further research. What do you all think?Atownnative (talk) 13:45, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Adding to Myth of Proteus edit

I think that the discussion of the myth of Proteus is lacking. I would like to add some more about how important this myth is in Bacon's Wisdom of the AncientsAtownnative (talk) 20:48, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

The Importance of the New Atlantis to Bacon's Philosophy edit

I am going to add more information to the section on The New Atlantis, mainly about how this book relates to his scientific philosophy.Atownnative (talk) 22:16, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Need a section on earlier works edit

This article really lack any discussion of Bacon's earlier writings. I am going to add a subsection under religious works about his Masculine Birth of Time. Atownnative (talk) 17:42, 6 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

History of the Reign of King Henry VII edit

What about Bacon's History of the Reign of King Henry VII? I don't know what section it belongs to but it's certainly missing.--Zofo (talk) 23:56, 22 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bacon and the Research University edit

I have added text about how Bacon in The New Atlantis anticipates the modern day research university.Atownnative (talk) 01:06, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Importance of Francis Bacon's Writing edit

I am adding a section describing how Bacon has influenced modern-day scientists. Doing so will show why Bacon is so important to our scientific world. Atownnative (talk) 01:23, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Francis Bacon and Modern Environmentalism edit

Hi everyone, I don't think that how modern environmentalism responds to Francis Bacon's work is well presented in the article. Would anyone mind if I add a section about this topic? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atownnative (talkcontribs) 00:57, 10 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Expanded subsection on Masculine Birth edit

I added more information to the subsection on the Masculine Birth of Time, including a discussion of Bacon's rejection of classical philosophy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atownnative (talkcontribs) 00:52, 17 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Tables of Discovery edit

Inductive reasoning is again considered important particularly in these days of data science. The Tables of Discovery are so described in Britannica <ref>https://www.britannica.com/science/tables-of-discovery<ref> under Baconian Methodology, “He distinguished three kinds: tables of presence, of absence, and of degree...”. I want to see a discussion with examples.Mejwan (talk) 02:07, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
