Old Movie Rumor from E OnLine?

edit

I beleive that was picked up from Wizard Magazine's April Fool's Issue that year. Not a real story.

"E! Online reported in 2002 that Warner Bros. was considering a live action Wonder Twins movie.

This prompted videogame webcomic Penny Arcade to parody at their abilities [1]"

Seems to be a gratuitous plug/link for Penny Arcade

Incestual instincts?

edit

I think the incestual instincts of the Wonder Twins were rather appalling. I see no place for this smut near my children.

There were no signs of any incestual instincts among Zan and Jayna either in the cartoons nor in the Super Friends comics. I'm not familiar enough with the Extreme Justice version to know if there were any there, but I think it unlikely.-Wilfredo Martinez

Eh, it's just a dumb joke: "When the twins touch, one gets wet and the other becomes an animal; what kind of message is that for the kids?" 142.161.206.153 20:50, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar; I have a hard time believing that a cartoon scene about fantasy superpowers really shakes youngsters that much. Real life people have a far greater effect on their behavior. Besides, even were I to grant there is such a message, maybe it is something like "You must be willing to fight injustice personally before allowing yourself to transform into water or animals". A Grip Needs to Be Gotten

edit

Regarding what I hope is tongue-in-cheek "critism" of the "incest" in Wonder Twins... There is a difference between wishful thinking and a dirty mind. An adult can watch the old-Teen Titans cartoon and see a lot of homoerotism which is not "there" for the kiddies. Kiddies watch these things for the costumes and the actions. Adults overlay their insecurities, prejudices, latencies, and fears. Nuff said. Jackbox1971 03:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The removal of the El Goonish Shive reference on 5 July 2006 makes me sad :'( 69.95.175.205 21:39, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Then again, they DO look like Donnie and Marie.....

Minor correction

edit

In the spoof of the Wonder Twins rescuing the spelunker from a bear, the grieving mother was quoted as having said, "a one-inch gopher moat won't stop a bear." The correct version is actually "a one-inch deep gopher moat won't contain a bear." The correction has been made. You can view it for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mhbxlz_wrI . The quote occurs at approximately 1:20 PatrickLMT 11:37, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Should the Gleek Artile just merge with this one?

edit

I noticed that one is a stub and just repeats information from this one. Should they be merged? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mavrickindigo (talkcontribs) 20:09, 29 March 2007 (UTC).Reply

Relation with Jan and Jace and their monkey Blip from the Space Ghost and Dino Boy show

edit

OK, this is too big to not be mentioned. So, is there any kind of relation between the Wonder twins and Jace and their monkey Blip from the 66 space ghost show? Because if it's jusy a coïncidence, that's a freaking huge one.

Speaking of things too big not to be mentioned, why is the section titled "Publication History" when they made their first appearance on TV? Very confusing. Especially since the tv appearance section makes no mention of those shows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.162.102.161 (talk) 00:00, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Osmonds

edit

I've always believed, and googling it will show that a bazillion people believe, that Zan & Jayna were invented to capitalize on the popularity of Donny and Marie Osmond. The Osmonds had hits since the 60s, but the Donny & Marie Hour became the #1 show in 1976, immediately before the Superfriends found some young clean cut kids with Utah accents from the planet Exxor. Historically, this is the most encyclopedic thing about the Wonder Twins, and I think there should be some mention of this in the article (providing someone can find a legit reference for it.) --Mrcolj (talk) 14:59, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Smallville (request 3rd opinion)

edit

The Smallville reference says that Zan, as a cloud of mist, is able to lower Lois to the ground. I was under the impression that Clark was able to save her under the cover that Zan provided. I will call upon a third to arbitrate. This video shows the scene being discussed, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdVhYOog2M8&NR=1 beginning at 1:50, Zan is swirling in as a fog, then when Lois falls, Clark suddenly moves away at superhuman speed. It seems to suggest that he was able to act to rescue Lois under the cover of the fog that Zan provides. 72.91.58.135 (talk) 23:42, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Current Picture

edit

The current main picture isn't the one by Alex Ross like it says in the caption. I remember there being another picture that was, unmistakably, Ross. By the way, why the change? 69.246.217.44 (talk) 03:10, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Argh, I need glasses. Okay, the above section says it was speedy deleted, but the caption still needs changed. 69.246.217.44 (talk) 03:11, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Additionally in video games

edit

The Twins also appear as NPCs in Teeny Titans and as collectible figures in Teen Titans Go! Figure, two mobile games. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.5.174.49 (talk) 04:58, 8 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
