The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is a transformative initiative designed to create an enabling ecosystem for women entrepreneurs throughout India, empowering them to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams, foster innovation, and develop sustainable strategies for their businesses.

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is a unified access portal[clarification needed] which brings together women from different regions of India, across economies to realize their entrepreneurial aspirations. The idea of the Platform was first mooted by Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog who announced the setting-up of a Women Entrepreneurship Platform in NITI Aayog at the conclusion of the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) held in Hyderabad in 2017.

The platform's vision revolves around significantly increasing the number of women entrepreneurs who can contribute to the growth and progress of a dynamic New India. WEP is built on three fundamental pillars:
Ichha Shakti (Power of Aspiration): This pillar focuses on inspiring and motivating aspiring entrepreneurs to take the leap into entrepreneurship and start their own ventures. [2]
Gyaan Shakti (Power of Knowledge): WEP provides essential knowledge, resources, and ecosystem support to women entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the entrepreneurial landscape and fostering their entrepreneurial spirit. [3]
Karma Shakti (Power of Action): WEP is committed to providing hands-on support to entrepreneurs in not only setting up their businesses but also scaling them up to achieve sustainable growth and success.

WEP will support entrepreneurs by encouraging them to share their entrepreneurial journeys, stories, and experiences in order to foster mutual learning, in addition to offering services like free credit ratings, mentorship, funding support for women entrepreneurs, apprenticeship, and corporate alliances. [1]
As a catalyst for change, the WEP platform will collaborate with partner organisations to support offline projects and outreach programmes to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit among potential women business owners.
